Current Open Positions — Security Analyst III

Security Analyst III (Senior Level)-- Houston
Position Summary: Responsible for the information technology security architecture design; implementation of and adherence to best practice security policies, controls, standards and guidelines; oversees implementation of security solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains information technology security architecture which includes definition of technical security controls (e.g., access control, authentication, encryption, deterrence measure, etc) and definition of non-technical security controls (e.g., process and procedure) necessary to achieve the security requirements.
  • Develops, implements and maintains best practice information technology security policies, controls, standards and guidelines.
  • Works with infrastructure and application teams, service delivery partners, and business clients to assist with the design, compliance and implementation of security solutions.
  • Provides systems counsel relative to business problems and ensures that security policies are adhered to and the architecture continues to meet the needs of the business.
  • Develops and articulates solutions based on the strategic business or technical requirements ascertained from working with multiple business units across the organization.
  • Develops and maintains application security testing models to monitor and improve the security posture of applications.
  • Provides architectural oversight and direction for enterprise-wide security technology.
  • Prepares weekly, monthly and periodic reports in support of established policies and controls.
  • Coordinates with Operations, Development and Business support staff in investigating and determining the root causes of events.
  • Conduct and/or facilitate investigations of technical securitiy incidents, collaborating with Legal, HR, Internal Audit and Information Services personnel as applicable.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science or related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • Candidate must have 8+ years experience with at least 5 years in an information technology security role.
  • Certified Information systems Security Professional (CISSP) and highly desirable to hold one or more of the following certifications:
      >SANS-GIAC certification (Security Expert/GSE)
      >Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP)
      >Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • Expert knowledge of security methods and processes.
  • Expert-level security focused background working with Microsoft (including Active Directory) and Cisco; and Windows and UNIX based operating systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of secure implementations such as VPNS, encryption technologies, IPSEC, V-LANS, and Wireless technologies; and common internet protocols and their vulnerabilities: HTTP; HTTPS; FTP, Telnet, SMTP, ICMP, SNMP.
  • Working knowledge and experience with: Cisco firewalls, VPN including SSL VPN, wireless networking technologies, Cisco routing, Network Intrusion Detection, forensics collection and analysis, vulnerability scanning and log analysis/correlation.
  • Experience working in a computing or IT environment that provided operational or engineering support for infrastructure, network, servers and applications.
  • Ability to conduct assigned work with self directed or minimal supervision.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain and express technical issues to non-technical individuals.
  • Available and flexible to work various shifts as necessary to include possible weekends, evenings and overtime.
  • Ability to sit and work at computer station for extended hours at a time.
