HOUSTON, TX, OCTOBER 29, 2005 -- Accudata Systems , Inc., a leading IT consulting and integration firm, today announced its membership in Microsoft's Security Partner Advisory Council (SPAC). Accudata Systems representative Craig Gaines, its Microsoft Practice Manager, attended the inaugural meeting October 19 - 21 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The PAC program is an exclusive, invitation-only membership currently comprising approximately twenty individual PACs and more than 500 members. The PAC meets twice a year to exchange information and to network. Accudata Systems is a member of Microsoft's Security PAC. Each PAC member must be a managed Gold Certified Partner and be nominated by a senior level Microsoft manager, among other qualifications.
"I found the meetings to be extremely informative; we both contributed and received a great deal of valuable information. It also was great exposure for the company," Mr. Gaines stated. "The Security PAC that I participate in is an international group of 17 companies, all members being either a principal consultant or at the director level."
The PAC mission as stated is 'to gather and disseminate global and enterprise managed partner feedback on strategic Microsoft products, go-to-market strategies, competition, and programs through close dialogue between select global and enterprise managed partners and Microsoft executives, fostering cohesive relationships between Microsoft, our partners, and the product groups.'
Individual PACs are made up of between fifteen and twenty-five peers who meet regularly to provide Microsoft with feedback on specific products and services related to the individual PAC. The three-day meeting provides an opportunity for PAC members and Microsoft to build strong business relationships and foster the exchange of ideas and information.
The Security PAC's mission is to focus on the security issues that Microsoft customers and partners face, including what are the traditional pain points, what are customers asking for, and what are their perceptions of the security technology marketplace.
"We got into some very meaningful stuff on the security council, made some real progress. Microsoft expressed a clear desire to focus on the security business and appears to be making specific strides in that direction by its development of a solid security product strategy that includes services, products, and platforms," concluded Mr. Gaines.
